2012 Spring ECUSKF Promotion Exam
ECUSKF Dojo Representatives and Friends,
The updated Spring 2012 Promotion Test packet is now available to distribute to your dojo and other interested parties. The due date is to have all applications postmarked by March 2nd so that we have ample time to plan for the test to be held on March 10th.
We will have a joint practice with the visiting sensei prior to the test, so you are encouraged to get to the testing location early enough to take advantage of the chance to warm up and shake off any nervous jitters you might have. There will also be a special joint practice after the test in honor of Ariga-sensei, who will be moving to South Carolina in April, as well as a special dinner afterwards. Everyone is invited to attend both of those events. Additional information is in the promotion packet, but if you have any questions, you can contact me with the information at the end of this email
As a reminder, we will also have the Kentucky Tournament the day after the test. If you are able to stay an extra day, you are more than welcome to join us for that event as well. The attached document has the application forms and tournament location information. If you have any questions about the tournament, you can contact Jim Atkins with the information given below.

Morikawa-sensei's Farewell Message
Dear all,
Thank you very much for your “Keiko” with me.
As you know, I will leave tomorrow here to Japan.
Today is last day in US.
I have been Detroit November 2004 for 5 months and joined Detroit Dojo.
My first impression in US is “What aggressive Kendo in US!” I was very surprised.
And January 2006, I was Miami Valley Kendo Club member.
I got many friends through Kendo in US for 4 years especially American as well as Japanese. So I was very happy.
I appreciate it.
From now on I will work on Idemitsu Kosan Tokyo head office and try to continue Kendo, too.
I believe all of you continue Kendo.
I wish each of you a bright future, wherever life takes you.
My new e-mail address is the following
masayuki.morikawa@si.idemitsu.co.jp
PS)
Please forward my e-mail to your party if necessary.
Thank you.
